The VSS Patrix has smooth, parallel sides on the attachment section and the remaining bar has a 2
degree taper which simplifies the fitting of an overcasting onto the implant bar frame. The bar pattern
can be reduced along the base as well as the mesial and distal areas to fit the required space. The VSS
has three levels of retention: green (light), yellow (medium), and red (high); however the retentiveness
can be customized on a per patient basis by simply polishing the implant bar frame until a comfortable
grip is achieved.
The bar should be fitted between the implant abutments with a paralleling mandrel.
The bar is made of rigid acrylic which can be trimmed easily and quickly.
After casting and trimming, the bar is secured on the abutments with the paralleling mandrel.
They should be soldered together to create a stress free unit.
Duplicating is carried out with the yellow matrix for the VSP-FS and with the Duplicating Jig for the VSP-GS.
This provide the optimum conditions for changing the dgree of friction later.
The restoration is blocked out and duplicated using standard methods.
No spacer wax should be applied around the matrix.
The matrix is also duplicated and acts as a spacer for the matrix housing in the chrome cobalt framework.
The bar and the matrix are simply coated with wax.
The remaining sections of the patterns are waxed up as required.
Before inserting the matrix into its housing in the chrome cobalt frame work, check the housing for bubbles and high spots.
The matrix with the desired degree of friction is selected and pressed in using the insertion tool.
The underside of the finished restoration with parallel bar and red matrix.
The friction can be increased or decreased as required by replacing the matrix.
